Lost your job due to COVID-19?
Lot of people are posting on social sites especially on Linkedin about loosing their jobs due to COVID-19 and I was wondering why people rely so much on jobs?
So here are my thoughts.
- If you have a skill then someone somewhere will be happy to pay you for doing the work they can't do. That's good right?
- Now how do you find that someone who will pay you? You do your own marketing, create a website, promote your website on other search engines, post of social media platforms, don't be ashamed to shout about what you know and what you can do for others.
- Am I talking about freelancing? Yes but not just that, it could be starting your own business as well.
- Will it give me regular income like my job? Well that is upto you, how seriously you want to pursue it.
- What if I don't want to start my business or do freelancing? Still promote your profile and yourself. Make a blog, videos and tutorials so others know your skills. Your potential employers will see all that.
In the end I would say, think about passive income sources where you don't actively have to work to earn money. Also think about savings for your future. I think you should always have enough extra money to survive at least 1 year comfortably without money.
